The force behind Apali Productions is Ian Solomon. Ian was born in Los Angeles, CA. At the age of 9, he moved across the country to a small New Jersey town called Woodcliff Lake. In his early years of creating, he started his own wiffleball league on YouTube consisting of over 20 participants. A few years later, he created one of the top high school basketball photo editing Instagram accounts, surpassing over 10,000 followers. Throughout high school is where he fell in love with film and starting producing his own films. This is something he pursued when he went on to attend college at San Diego State University. In his freshman year, he created the unofficial label “DUDS” which served as his label for all of his creations whether it be video or commerce. When his senior year came around and he started to take on new ventures, that is when he decided that his unofficial label needed a real identity. From this came the creation of Apali Productions.
